Day 1

Arrival in Rwanda

Your journey begins in Kigali — one of Africa’s most peaceful and well-kept capitals. Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and set off north toward Volcanoes National Park.

The drive takes you through rolling green hills, rural villages, and tea plantations. By evening, you’ll arrive at your lodge at the foot of the volcanoes, where dinner and a well-earned rest await.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking

Early in the morning, you’ll head into Volcanoes National Park for one of the most powerful experiences of your journey — an encounter with mountain gorillas.

After a briefing, your trek begins through dense mountain forest. The route takes you across thick vegetation and can last anywhere from one to several hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family that day.

Once the group is found, you’ll spend up to an hour in their presence. Watching young gorillas play while adults interact is an experience unlike any other — raw, intimate, and deeply moving.

After returning, enjoy time to rest and unwind at your lodge.

Day 3

Helicopter Flight & Nyungwe Forest

After breakfast, you’ll take a helicopter flight across the country. From above, Rwanda’s signature landscapes unfold — rolling green hills, patchwork fields, and dense forests.

Upon arrival, continue to Nyungwe National Park. Check in to your lodge and enjoy time to relax, surrounded by the sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest.

Day 4

Canopy Walk & Zipline

Today you’ll experience Nyungwe Forest from above.

A walk along the suspended canopy bridge takes you high above the treetops, offering a completely different perspective of the rainforest. Then, a zipline adventure lets you glide over the forest — a thrilling and scenic way to take it all in.

In the afternoon, enjoy time to relax at the lodge or choose from additional activities.

Day 5

Chimpanzee Trekking & Journey Home

Early in the morning, you’ll set out on a trek to find chimpanzees.

This experience is more dynamic and fast-paced — chimpanzees are constantly on the move, calling to one another and traveling quickly through the forest, making the encounter lively and engaging.

After returning, you’ll check out of the lodge and fly back to Kigali. From here, you’ll either continue your journey across East Africa or depart for home.
