Legends of Uganda
Day 1
Arrival in Uganda
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be met by your driver and begin your journey north. Along the way, there will be a stop for lunch and your first introduction to Uganda’s lush, green landscapes.
By evening, you’ll arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary — the only place in the country where rhinos can be seen in the wild. Check in to your lodge and enjoy dinner.
A quiet evening to relax and unwind after your flight.
Day 2
Rhinos & the Nile Falls
The morning begins with birdwatching — the area is home to dozens of rare species, and with a bit of luck, you may even spot the legendary shoebill.
Next, set out on a guided trek to see rhinos on foot, accompanied by experienced rangers. Walking through their natural habitat offers a rare and intimate encounter.
Afterwards, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge, creating one of the most powerful and dramatic waterfalls in Africa.
In the evening, enjoy a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of the falls. Along the way, you may spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife — one of the most memorable experiences of the region.
Day 3
Nile Delta & Journey to Kibale
In the morning, set out on a boat excursion to the Nile Delta — one of the best birdwatching spots in Africa and one of the most likely places to encounter the rare shoebill.
After breakfast, continue your journey through Uganda’s rolling hills and rural villages toward Kibale National Park, renowned for its lush tropical forests.
Upon arrival, check in to your lodge set among crater lakes and enjoy time to relax.
Day 4
Chimpanzees in the Rainforest
After breakfast, you’ll head into Kibale National Park, one of Africa’s premier destinations for primate encounters.
Trekking through dense tropical forest, you’ll track families of chimpanzees. Once found, you’ll have time to observe them up close — watching their behavior, interactions, and daily life in the wild.
In the afternoon, enjoy a walk through the Bigodi Wetlands, home to monkeys, abundant birdlife, and a rich variety of other species.
Day 5
Into the Savannah
In the morning, enjoy another forest trek in Kibale, with the chance to encounter a variety of primates — including colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and baboons.
Afterwards, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most scenic reserves, known for its open savannahs, crater lakes, and rich wildlife.
Upon arrival, check in to your safari camp and take time to relax.
Day 6
Safari & the Kazinga Channel
In the morning, set out on your first game drive across the savannah, searching for lions, elephants, buffalo, antelope, and other wildlife.
After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to one of the largest concentrations of hippos in Africa. Along the banks, elephants and buffalo are often seen coming down to drink.
In the evening, return to your safari camp for dinner.
Day 7
Tree-Climbing Lions
After breakfast, set out on another game drive.
You’ll then continue to the southern part of the park — the Ishasha region, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions, often seen resting on the branches of giant fig trees.
In the evening, enjoy an aperitif at sunset in the open savannah.
Day 8
Bwindi’s Misty Forests
In the morning, enjoy a final game drive before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to one of Africa’s oldest tropical forests.
Upon arrival, check in to your lodge on the edge of the jungle and take time to rest before the highlight of your journey — an unforgettable encounter with mountain gorillas.
Day 9
Mountain Gorillas
Today brings one of the most powerful moments of your journey.
After a briefing, you’ll set out into the forest to track mountain gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from one to several hours, but the encounter is worth every step.
Once the group locates a gorilla family, you’ll spend about an hour in their presence — observing their behavior and daily life up close in their natural habitat.
After returning, enjoy time to rest and reflect at your lodge.
Day 10
Gorilla Habituation Experience
Today offers a truly rare experience — the Gorilla Habituation program, allowing you to spend up to four hours with a gorilla family.
Together with rangers and researchers, you’ll observe their behavior, interactions, and daily life in remarkable detail — a deeper, more immersive encounter than traditional trekking.
After lunch, transfer to a lodge overlooking Lake Mutanda.
Day 11
Golden Monkeys & Lake Mutanda
In the morning, set out on a trek in Mgahinga National Park to encounter the rare golden monkeys in their natural habitat.
After lunch, enjoy a peaceful canoe ride on Lake Mutanda, surrounded by volcanic peaks and rolling green hills.
Day 12
Farewell to Africa
After breakfast, you’ll set off for Kigali, the capital of neighboring Rwanda.
Along the way, enjoy scenic views of rolling hills and rural villages. In the city, there will be time for lunch before your transfer to the airport and your flight home.
