East Africa: Safari and the Ocean
Day 1
Arrival in Nairobi & Lake Nakuru
Upon arrival in Nairobi, you’ll be met at the airport and set out on a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru, approximately three hours away.
On the shores of the lake, you’ll settle into a cozy safari lodge overlooking the water and the park’s lush greenery. Spacious rooms, birdsong, and a gentle breeze create the perfect setting to relax after the journey and ease into the rhythm of nature.
Day 2
Flamingos at Lake Nakuru
Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake surrounded by volcanic hills, known for its rich ecosystem and diverse wildlife. Here, you can spot flamingos and pelicans, as well as buffalo, giraffes, and lions.
The park is especially famous for its protected population of white rhinos. Today, you’ll explore both water and land — with a boat ride on the lake and a game drive led by an experienced guide.
Day 3
Flight to the Maasai Mara
The morning begins with a flight to the legendary Maasai Mara. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed at your safari camp, where comfortable tented suites overlook the savannah — your home for the next few days.
After lunch, set out on your first safari. Endless golden plains, herds of antelope on the horizon, and the feeling that time moves differently here.
Day 4
The Great Migration in the Maasai Mara
The Maasai Mara is renowned for its exceptional safari experiences and the rich culture of the Maasai people. In September, it becomes the stage for the Great Migration, where vast herds can be witnessed up close as they move across the plains.
Beyond game drives, you’ll have the opportunity to discover Maasai traditions, enjoy guided walks across the savannah, and spend evenings beneath the stars. For a truly unforgettable experience, you can opt for a sunrise hot-air balloon flight or a picnic in the heart of the wilderness.
Day 5
Serengeti
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a flight to the northern Serengeti, crossing the border between Kenya and Tanzania.
It is here, in the northern Serengeti, that the Great Migration unfolds in all its drama and scale — one of the most extraordinary wildlife spectacles on Earth. The region is also known for its high concentration of predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and jackals.
Day 6
The Great Migration in the Serengeti
The main reason to visit at this time of year is the Great Migration — an awe-inspiring spectacle that unfolds right before your eyes.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, along with zebras and gazelles, move across the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing lands, crossing between Tanzania and Kenya. Along the way, they face dramatic river crossings, encounters with predators, and the harsh realities of the savannah — making it one of the most remarkable natural events on Earth.
Day 7
Lake Manyara
After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Lake Manyara. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge.
In the afternoon, set out on a safari in the park. Lake Manyara is known for its scenic landscapes and diverse wildlife — including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and antelope. The park is especially famous for its tree-climbing lions, often seen resting on branches as they watch the plains below.
Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Early in the morning, you’ll set out on a safari in the Ngorongoro Crater — one of Tanzania’s most extraordinary природных landscapes.
The crater is a vast volcanic caldera, about 20 kilometers in diameter and set at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. It is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards, and rhinos — making every game drive here exceptionally rich and rewarding.
Day 9
Zanzibar
Today you leave the mainland behind and fly to the island of Zanzibar. White sands, the warm Indian Ocean, swaying palms, and lush greenery create the feeling of a true tropical escape.
Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel on the northern coast of the island. This part of Zanzibar is known for its beautiful beaches and calm, clear waters — perfect not only for relaxing by the sea, but also for snorkeling, diving, and other water activities.
Day 10
Blue Safari
Your day begins with a transfer to the fishing village of Fumba. From here, you’ll set out on a traditional dhow boat across Menai Bay, where dolphins are often spotted along the way.
At a secluded sandbank, a shaded setup awaits — the perfect place to relax, swim in the shallow waters, and soak up the sun. Afterwards, enjoy snorkeling at a vibrant reef teeming with marine life.
Your next stop is Kwale Island, where a fresh seafood lunch will be served. Here, you’ll also see an ancient baobab tree and have time to browse a small local craft market.
After lunch, return to Fumba Bay and transfer back to your hotel.
Day 11
A Day at Your Own Pace
Zanzibar is more than just beaches — it’s an island rich in history. In Stone Town, traces of its trading past can still be seen in landmarks such as the Sultan’s Palace, the Old Fort, and the Anglican Cathedral. The island’s museums offer a deeper insight into its culture and heritage.
One of the most notable sites is the childhood home of Freddie Mercury, now a small museum dedicated to his life and legacy. If you wish, we can arrange a guided tour for you.
Day 12
